Truth – Hebrew: Emet

Emet in Hebrew means ‘truth, right, faithful’

“If you obey what I say, then you are really my talmidim, you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free” (John 8:32, CJB).

“If you hold to my teaching, then you are really my disciples.  Then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free” (John 8:32, NIV).

“But the time is coming – indeed, it’s here now – when the true (faithful)  worshippers will worship the Father spiritually and truly (rightly), for these are the kind of people the Father wants worshipping him.  God is spirit; and worshippers must worship him spiritually and truly” (John 4:23-24, CJB).

“Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true (real)  worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth (genuine), for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks” (John 4:23-24, NIV).

Truth is essential in being a disciple of Yeshua.  Truth is essential in worshipping the Father.  The teachings of Yeshua are Truth because they are the Word of God (John 17:17).
