Faith or emunah in Hebrew means ‘faithfulness’ and ‘certainty.’ The word ‘faith’ is found 122 times in the Old Testament; 115 times in the new.
“Faith is being confident in what we hope for, convinced about things we do not see” (Hebrews 11:1, Complete Jewish Bible).
“Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see” (Hebrews 11:1, New International Version).
