“Adonai will rule them on Mount Tziyon from that time forth and forever. You, tower of the flock, hill of the daughter of Tziyon, to you your former sovereignty will return, the royal power of the daughter of Yerushalayim” (Complete Jewish Bible).
The Hebrew for ‘Adonai’ is יהוה or yod-hey-vav-hey, Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh, I Am.
The Hebrew word for ‘rule’ is malak and means ‘to become king or reign.’
Mount Tziyon is not a ‘tangible mountain.’ It is a spiritual place described as being the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem (Hebrews 12:22-24). In this place angels assemble with the community of the firstborn whose names have been recorded in heaven. There is a Judge who is God over everyone, spirits of righteous people who have fought the good fight and have been brought to the goal, and Yeshua whose sprinkled blood renewed the covenant in a better way.
“From that time forth” is an idiom for the Messianic Era. ‘From that time forth,’ Yeshua will reign from the Millennia Kingdom into Eternity.
‘Tower of the flock’ is known in Hebrew as the Migdal Eder. This is the place near Bethlehem where the angels told the shepherds about the birth of Messiah Yeshua. These shepherds raised the sheep for the Temple sacrifices.
The Hebrew word for ‘hill’ is aphel and means ‘to be lifted up.’ The Ophel, the place between the City of David and the Temple was the place where the Levitical priests lived when doing their service. It was on the way ‘to go up to the Temple’ for worship.
‘Daughter of Tziyon (Zion)’ refers to the Jewish people living in Jerusalem.
‘Sovereignty’ in Hebrew is rivukot and means ‘lordship and dominion.’
‘Daughter of Yerushalyim (Jerusalem)’ is found multiple times in Song of Songs, an allegory of the love relationship between the Bridegroom Yeshua and His Bride. The ‘Daughter of Yerushalayim’ is the Bride of Messiah.
“Adonai will become King over them on Mount Tziyon, the mountain of the believers in Messiah from the time of Yeshua’s reign until forever. You, Migdal Eder, will be lifted up, of the Jewish people where salvation was announced, to you your former dominion and lordship will return, the royal power of the Bride and Bridegroom of Yeshua.“
