“How blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they have the right to eat from the Tree of Life and go through the gates into the city! Outside are the homosexuals, those involved with the occult and with drugs, the sexually immoral, murderers, idol-worshippers, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood” (Revelation 22:14-15).
I recently had a little discussion with someone about the LGBT movement and a group of Christians attending a gay pride parade to apologize for their views on these sexual perversions. The whole concept of apologizing for a Biblical view is really anti-Biblical. It’s crazy that believers have become so faithless and have no effect on the culture or the people around them. Anyone, any age living out sexual sin, whether adultery, fornication or the multitude of perversions associated with sexual sin, will not enter the Kingdom of God. That is Biblical Truth. If you don’t like it, then perhaps your Biblical view of Truth is skewed.
“Standing up, Yeshua said to her, “Where are they? Has no one condemned you?” She said, “No one, sir.” Yeshua said, “Neither do I condemn you. Now go, and don’t sin any more” (John 8:10-11).
When the woman ‘caught in adultery’ was brought to Yeshua, he said, “Go and sin no more.” He knew she was a sinner, an adulteress. He knew she had sinned and told her to ‘stop.’ He didn’t apologize to her for his Father’s view on adultery. To do so would have condemned her soul to eternal death. He didn’t sentence her to death as those who brought her to him would have done. He quite powerfully set her on a new path with the words: “Go now and leave your life of sin” (John 8:11, New International Version).
“For it makes no difference whether one is a Jew or a Gentile, since all have sinned and come short of earning God’s praise” (Romans 3:23).
Another recent conversation ended with a woman telling me she is bi-sexual and ‘born that way.’ Every person who identifies with a perverted sexual identity claims to have been ‘born that way.’ I would agree with her. We were all born with a sin nature and desire to let it manifest. Each of us live out those desires in different ways from lying and stealing to physical and even spiritual adultery. Each of us is given the opportunity through faith in the blood of Yeshua to be set free from every bondage to sin. If we apologize for any Biblical view of sin, we bear false witness to Yeshua and damn sinful individuals to an eternity separated God.
Many of us do, however, need to apologize for our attitude toward those stuck in the muck of sin. We need to check our hearts and how we treat those who need to be forgiven of their sin and set free. After all, if we have been set free from sin, we have the truest testimony for freedom and forgiveness.
“Because of this, I tell you that her sins — which are many! — have been forgiven, because she loved much. But someone who has been forgiven only a little loves only a little” (Luke 7:47).
Tolerance of sin and the love of Yeshua are very different ideologies. One allows for sin to proliferate and corrupt the world; the other challenges sin to bring forth conviction, repentance, and a changed person. One forces men and women to spend eternity separated from God; the other brings them into the Kingdom where they will spend eternity with their heavenly Father. Sadly, sin is no longer dealt with because of ‘cheap grace.’ Many discard God’s commandments because of Yeshua’s death on the cross. This lie creates a tolerance of sin that has made the good news impotent because the message of repentance has been lost.
When we apologize for a Biblical view of sin, we allow the Adversary to continue his rampage against the humanity. When we apologize for God’s view of sin, we assimilate into the darkness of the world.
