In the Hebrew Scriptures, it was during the month of Elul that God showed great mercy to the Israelites who had sinned against Him in the wilderness. After interceding for Israel with God for the lives of the people he had recently delivered from Egypt, Moses returned to Mt. Sinai. After forty days and nights he came down from the mountain with the second set of commandments given by God.
Bad things happen to good people?
choice to follow Him or ‘bad’ things happen. Others say ‘bad’ happens because we live in a fallen world. Both of those views have truth to them, yet I wonder if the problem isn’t that God allows ‘bad’ things to happen to ‘good’ people, but we have twisted view of ourselves and a false one of God. I present the idea that we are not ‘good’ people and therefore, ‘bad’ things will be part of our life experience.
Same-sex Marriage
Marriage is a religious institution, defined in the Bible as being between a man and a woman. This religious institution should remain separate from state intrusion if that’s the cry of those who want no religion mixed within state affairs. May Adonai have mercy on this country and those federal supreme court judges who changed the parameters for men and women marrying, becoming one flesh and procreating.
Feast of Weeks – Shavuot
The men and women of Israel needed to repent from their disobedience and return to faith in God. They needed to be immersed into the name of Yeshua for the forgiveness of their sins and receive the gift of God’s Spirit. Three thousand Jewish men and women repented and turned back to God that day. They received forgiveness of their sins and the Holy Spirit was poured into their hearts (Acts 2:41). Their hearts of stone were changed into hearts of flesh and the new covenant prophesied by Ezekiel and Jeremiah, instituted and promised by Yeshua, had begun in Jerusalem on Shavuot with Israel.
