The Feast day of the LORD known as Passover is not Jewish in an ethnic sense or Christian in a religious sense, but is divinely appointed in a Biblical sense and remains eternal and universal.

Remembering redemption and deliverance
“Therefore let us keep the Festival, not with the old bread leavened with malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth” (1 Corinthians 5:8).
Julie, I was raised about 1 mile from Millersville University. I purchased your book OPEN MY EYES. I do have a question regarding your Christology. From your book I seem to get the impression you’re NOT of the Trinitarian belief (I myself am not). Am I right? If so, that only leaves two other options: Binitarianism and Oneness theology. I’d appreciate your understanding in the regard to the Godhead. Thank you.
Stephen
Wow! I haven’t been back to the ‘ville’ in 20 years or more. Beautiful campus. Now, I live in Alaska so it’s quite far for just a quick visit. Thank you for purchasing my book “Open My Eyes.” I appreciate your question and will try to answer it to the best of my understanding.
You are correct. I do not adhere to the trinity for several reasons. First, it is not supported in Scripture. Though some make a ‘case’ for Genesis 1 with the presence of God, His Ruach hovering over the waters, and He spoke (Yeshua), there is more to His essence than those manifiestations. 1 John 1, for example, speaks only of the Father and the Son and never even references the Spirit. The great commission was to go and immerse in the NAME. This is another topic in itself, but the immersion was not into a trinity, but into the Name of the Father, yod-hey-vav-hey. The Shema clearly states that the LORD is Echad (unity in oneness like marriage); Yeshua said that “I and the Father are One (echad)” (John 10:30). Second, the trinity really comes from pagan religions where there were trinities of gods like Nimrod, Semirarimis (Astarte) and Tammuz. The prophet Jeremiah warned Israel to not worship Tammuz from which comes the idea of Lent and Easter. Egypt had a trinity of Osiris, Isis, and Horus. Finally, the trinity was codified at the Council of Nicea which makes it a catholic doctrine rather than a Biblically Jewish one. The catholic church is know for its assimilation of pagan worship with ‘Christian’ theologies. Just the other day I was reading about the trinity on this website: https://RABDAVIS.ORG/EXPOSITION-OF-1-JOHN/ It was stated in the article that “Athanasius the Bishop of Alexandria, a center of Hellenistic teaching, formulated this doctrine in the forth century CE and is known as the Athanasian Creed.” Thus, it had a Hellenistic background, not a Biblically Jewish one, and it was formulated 300 years after Messiah.
I do believe that Elohim/Adonai can manifest Himself in many ways. He can manifest as a burning bush, a pillar of fire, a cloud, an angel, and even a human being. Each manifestation is fully Elohim – His Word, His refining fire, His spiritual essence, and ultimately the fullness of Himself in the person of Yeshua. What we witness and see of Him in Yeshua is His right Hand, His arm that works salvation (yeshua).
For me the problem with the trinity lies in the dividing of God into three parts. Many people disagree with that assessment, but we do have denominations that focus on God like protestant, denominations like the evangelicals who focus on Jesus, and denominations like penecostals who focus on spiritual gifts. By focusing their theologies on one aspect of God, they miss the other aspects. This is what the trinity has become. I like that Sha’ul says in Romans 11 that if the root is holy so are the branches. If that is true, then so is the converse, if the root is unholy (pagan), then so are the branches (that grow from that unholy root).
The Spirit or Ruach haKodesh, is the breath of Elohim. It is the essence of Him, His life-giving nature that was present at creation. It is not separate from Him as His Word is not separate from Him, the Word in the flesh being Yeshua. Though Adonai can manifest Himself in many character traits through compassion, mercy, love, anger, and justice, they should not be divided and the focus be only on His love or His justice. He is all these things together at one time. In much of Christendom today, the focus is on His love and mercy, but not on His justice or divine will as taught in Torah.
I’m sure there are those who have written a better explanation than I on the trinity, but this is how I view the trinity. It is not a complete and true manifestation of the Father/Creator of the Universe in the Scripture. Yod-hey-vav-hey, the I Am that I Am is more than ‘three in one’ as He is infinite in His expression of Himself.
