These next chapters begin the dreams and visions of Daniel himself. His first vision occurred in the first year of King Belshazzar. This dream would have occurred after the death of Nebuchadnezzar, but before the fateful night for King Belshazzar and the writing on the wall.
This first vision seems to be an overview while the following visions provide greater details of this original. Daniel is only given certain details, the only details the Spirit of Adonai wanted revealed.
When studying Biblical dreams and visions, it is important to use Scripture to interpret Scripture or define Scripture. It is also important to remember that all Biblical prophecy revolves around Israel, the Jewish people, and Jerusalem. Daniel studied the prophets, especially the major prophets like Jeremiah and Ezekiel, so digging deeper into the Torah and Prophets will reveal Scriptures that refine the elements in his dreams and visions.

Think About This: Witness of Two for Saints
In general, the Judaism keeps the commandments of God given to them by Moshe, but have yet to recognize Jesus as their Messiah and so they have not put their faith in him to merit deliverance. In general, Christendom has put their faith in Jesus, but no longer obey the commandments of God that Yeshua lived and taught (Matthew 5:16-20). Deuteronomy 19:15 states that all matters are established by a witness of two, Yeshua taught this Torah instruction in John 8:17, and Paul reiterated it in 2 Corinthians 13:1. Paul writes to saints, those who have faith in Yeshua and keep the commandments, in Romans 1:7, 1 Corinthians 1:2, 2 Corinthians 1:1, Ephesians 1:1, Philippians 1:1, and 1 Thessalonians 3:13.

26. Why does God send a “great delusion” so that people believe what is false?
27. What does the heavenly court decide about the Beast? (Psalm 82:1-7)
28. Why would Daniel keep the matter to himself?
Think About This: Person or Nation
The Jewish people do not hear Isaiah 53 read in their synagogues for many reasons, but those in leadership who do speak about Isaiah 53 say it is written not in reference to a person or Messiah, but as the experiences of the nation of Israel. Daniel is shown a Beast nation, but there is also a Beast person, the anti-messiah, who will be the ‘divine’ chosen leader of this global nation.
