“ADONAI is my light and salvation (yeshua); whom do I need to fear?” (Psalm 27:1, CJB).
The Hebrew word for ‘salvation’ is yeshua. ‘Salvation’ is found 158 times in the New American Standard Bible, both testaments. In the Complete Jewish Bible, ‘salvation’ as ‘yeshua’ is found 1181 times, both testaments. The Savior’s name and his purpose are one in the same. Yesha, the Hebrew root of yeshuah, signifies that which God will do on man’s behalf or that which has already been done by God for man.

“For Your salvation [Yeshua] I wait, O Lord” (Genesis 49:18).
“”He [Adonai] saw that there was no one, was amazed that no one interceded. Therefore his own arm brought him salvation [Yeshua], and his [yeshua] own righteousness sustained him” (Isaiah 59:16, CJB).

“Oh, that the salvation [Yeshua] of Israel would come out of Zion! When God restores His captive people, Let Jacob rejoice, let Israel be glad” (Psalm 53:6).
The Greek word for ‘salvation’ is solteria, but that is not the name given to Joseph for the Son conceived by the Holy Spirit.
“But while he [Joseph] was thinking about this, an angel of Adonai appeared to him a dream and said, “Yosef, son of David, do not be afraid to take Miryam [Mary] home with you as your wife; for what has been conceived in her is from the Ruach HaKodesh [Holy Spirit]. She will give birth to a son, and you are to name him Yeshua [which means Adonai saves] because he will save (yasa) his people from their sins” (Matthew 1:20) Complete Jewish Bible
“You people don’t know what you are worshipping; we worship what we do know, because salvation (Yeshua) comes from the Jews” (John 4:22).
“Therefore God raised him [Yeshua] to the highest place and gave him the name above every name; that in honor of the name given Yeshua, every knee will bow – in heaven, on earth and under the earth – and every tongue will acknowledge that Yeshua the Messiah is Adonai to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:9-11).
“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Messiah Yeshua (salvation), because through Messiah Yeshua (salvation) the law of the Spirit of life set me from the law of sin and death” (Romans 8:2, NIV).
“Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation (Yeshua) and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death” (2 Corinthians 7:10).

My HaMashiachs name is YAHUSHA the root is yasha meaning to save to deliver.
Shua means to cry out for help. And its use is feminine not masculine. And its a canannite tribe word.
Created after the exile of Babylon. Where they worshipped Ba’al. The lying Scribe pen removed YAHUAHS name and YAHUSHAS name. With this lying new israel language system Nikkud.
Also when YOU spell yEs which is wrong. Because the evidence is in the prophets names. EliYAHU not Eliyes. I now ask that YAHUSHA guide you to HIS truth. Seek the Ancient Path (Paleo Hebrew) where the good way is. Where you will find rest for your soul. Go to the Source BEFORE translations occurred. The Paleo Hebrew is the Ancient Path
Gary, thank you for your comment. I understand that you are researching this subject and it is right and good that each of us ‘study to show ourselves approved.’ Many years ago, probably about 25 or more, I studied this whole issue out for myself using the Hebrew language, including the paleo. The Hebrew dictionary says ‘yeshua’ means ‘salvation’ and the modern-day movement of Messianic Jews from 1967 onward, who are to be a light to the nations, use ‘yeshua’ or ‘y-shua’ as the name of their Messiah. That is what myself and my family have opted to use standing firm as we watch many different spellings and arguments pass around us. Many times when linguistics are taken too far, the root of the tree is missed because of the forest, and eventually all language is butchered. You may choose to call Yeshua, Yahushua, and the Yod-Hey-Vav-Hey, Yahuah, but until Messiah returns, the name of Elohim and its proper pronunciation will remain hidden until the appointed time. In the meantime, we are to be sharing the love of Messiah, teaching and training others to obey His commandments as we prepare ourselves as a pure, holy Bride.
As this is my blog, this is not a topic up for discussion or arugment. If I may add respectfully, English is also a language that has syntax and requires linguistic understanding. If you want to ‘prove’ your point to someone in English, I suggest complete sentences, using periods, non-run-ons, and capitalization of proper nouns.
Psalm 62:4 They only consult to cast him down from his excellency: they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah.
Many try to convince me that Jeshua comes from Joshua, which I find impossible to believe.
How can the eternal God be named after a mortal man?
I believe that Joshua was named after Jeshua.
His name is ‘yeshua’ which in Hebrew means ‘salvation.’ There is much evidence to that name so I’m not sure what you are implying. Joshua is Greek as there is no ‘J’ in the Hebrew language though they do have similar etymology. I never even mentioned ‘Joshua’ in my post.
My use of English words were meant to reflect the Hebrew.
Jeshua is the Hebrew name of Jesus.
