Some people kiss the ground when they arrive because they are home. That moment didn’t happen for me, but it is the one place I’ve ever been that I felt the most comfortable being who I am, believing what I believe, and doing what our family does. I covered my head and was not a freak nor did anyone try to discourage me or make me feel legalistic. In fact, most people thought I was Jewish and spoke Hebrew to me. I love wearing skirts and women in skirts were everywhere. It was also really nice to eat where kosher food is normal. We never had to worry about eating pork, shellfish or other things that are not really food.

Old Port of Joppa and Tel Aviv – February 19
Joppa is the oldest known port in the world. Throughout the centuries it has existed, but in recent history was built up and restored by a community of Jewish people.
Sarit to Tel Aviv – February 18
Sarit, being a Messianic Jew, has such an incredible understanding of the Scriptures and how Yeshua taught the Torah. It was so refreshing to hear the Word spoken about in its original context with its fulfillment being realized in the Words of Messiah.
Torah vs. Disputable Matters
A little more in-depth study shows the Greek word for ‘food ‘ is not even in Romans 14:14. The Strong’s Concordance said the word was “not in Greek” meaning the word ‘food’ was not found in the original Greek manuscript even though it was added to some of our English Bibles. This is significant for two reasons. First, Sha’ul was not speaking to the Romans about the removal of dietary instructions or the ‘appointed times’ of Adonai and our freedom to do whatever we want. He was teaching about what individuals consider acceptable or unacceptable in their personal lifestyles – disputable matters – and how as the Body of Messiah, the strong in faith need to accept the weak.
