I am not a doomsday kind of gal, but I’m also not someone who is willing to scoff at God’s Word either. After reading some of the comments today on an article about the meteor in Russia, my heart broke. There are those who are saying the ‘end of the world’ is upon us and those who scoff at the very idea of a judgment for our wicked behavior. The whole event and the response of people is ‘like the days of Noah’ when Noah prepared for a flood. As he built an ark, the people mocked him, his family, his unseen, unnamed God until the day he went into the ark and the rain started coming down. Clearly, we will each respond to the event of a meteor hitting the earth that injures many people in different ways.

No Valentines for Me
Years ago I was convicted by the words of a single woman who did not have a ‘sweetheart‘ on Valentine’s day. She always felt alone, isolated and unloved as she watched those around her receive flowers and chocolate. I knew in my heart she wasn’t the only person who felt this way on the day of cupid’s cruel arrow. I had felt that loneliness for many years until I realized that there is a greater love, an eternal love that is not expressed with a mushy card, roses or heart-shaped boxes filled with chocolate.
Our Home Education
We did not homeschool our children to isolate them from the world, but to have the freedom to show them the world. We wanted them to see history, see geography, see life in its reality. From the butterfly museum to NCAR (National Center for Atmospheric Research) to milking cows or goats to visiting the Gettysburg Battlefield to camping in numerous national parks to visiting cities from New York to Rio De Janeiro and Jerusalem, my children were given a well-rounded education because they saw the world through their own eyes.
Mrs. Donnelly and the Jewish Boy
I read a very special testimony this morning about Mrs. Donnelly and a Jewish boy, and I have to share it because Mrs. Donnelly’s is the perfect example of my heart’s cry for non-Jewish believers today.
