November 10, 2011 – Great Shalom

“Great shalom have they who love your Torah, and nothing can make them stumble”  (Psalm 119:165).

Because I have great peace at this moment, I must believe that I am loving the teachings and instructions of YHVH in ways that I do not understand.  I must be living out His Word through the Spirit and therefore it is not really me and I can take no credit.     I would not go so far as to say ‘nothing will make me stumble’ for in that moment, there is evidence of pride and then the loss of the peace.

There are truly no words that express what it’s like to have great peace, great shalom, where the ‘one who causes chaos has been destroyed’.  I do know that great shalom is a blessing and I want to bask in it for awhile longer.

“And the shalom of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Messiah Yeshua [the Living Torah]”  (Philippians 4:7).
