November 22, 2010 – Never Give Up

“As the rain and the snow come down from heaven,  and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,  so is my word that goes out from my mouth:  It will not return to me empty,  but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it” (Isaiah 55:10-11).

I am reminded of “Galaxy Quest” and “never give up; never surrender.”  The most difficult times in my life are when I have planted seeds for the Lord, pray, water, plant more seeds, and pray,  and see nothing happening – even the opposite of what I  hoped and prayed for.  The battle isn’t mine though at times I enter into it as it is my battle to win.  I must remember first, that the battle has already been won.  Secondly, the Word does not return VOID.

Recently, I heard Chuck Colson say that though the seed may be rebuffed and you think it didn’t go anywhere, it did go into their conscious mind.  It will bear fruit … someday.
